A gorilla habituation safari is the ultimate mountain gorilla experience. This is a very exclusive experience as you get to spend the day with the team working on habituating a new group of gorillas. You spend four hours with the gorillas and can study how they play, interact and have an unforgettable day.
Day-by-day itinerary for gorilla habituation safari
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO BWINDI
You will be met by our safari guide in Entebbe/Kampala in the early morning to start your Gorilla habituation safari. The journey takes us past the Equator, Ugandan countryside and on to Bwindi Impenetrable NP the home of the Mountain gorillas. Expect the journey to take the full day, we make a stop for lunch along the way. Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon to enjoy a relaxed evening at the lodge. (It is possible to make this a fly-in safari, flying in and out of Kisoro from Entebbe. Let us know when booking if you are interested in this option.)

DAY 2: GORILLA HABITUATION DAY
After breakfast at the lodge it is time to head to the gorilla habituation. Your guide will take care of all practicalities as you get ready for the meeting with the mountain gorillas. You then walk off into the jungle with the team working to habituate the gorillas to trek to the point where the gorillas are. Bwindi is a beautiful jungle so the trek is an experience in itself. When you reach the point where the gorillas are you spend an unforgettable day with them, hopefully spotting the great silverback, seeing some young members playing and studying these fascinating creatures close up. After the day with the gorillas you trek back and are picked up by your guide for the drive back to the lodge to rest.

DAY 3: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE/KAMPALA
Enjoy a nice breakfast and soak in the last of the magnificent views of the Misty mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Then start the journey back to Entebbe/Kampala. Along the way we enjoy the views and stop for lunch to arrive in Entebbe/Kampala late afternoon where your guides drops you after the gorilla habituation safari.

- Combine with any of our itineraries by switching gorilla trekking for gorilla habituation.
- Continue to a paradise island for a luxurious escape after your safari
- Stay a night in Entebbe/Kampala in connection to the safari if needed for your flight schedule.
