Let us take you for a luxurious safari to Queen Elizabeth national park. With a mix of experiences this is a safari to remember, go chimps trekking in Kyambura Gorge, look for hippos on a boat-cruise on Kazinga channel, search for tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and spot buffaloes in the Kasenyi area of the park.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for your luxury safari

Be picked up by your safari guide in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle in the morning to start your luxury Queen Elizabeth safari. We leave Kampala behind and drive out into the countryside. A first stop is made by the Equator for a cup of coffee, a look at crafts and the chance of standing with one foot on each side of the northern and southern hemisphere. Continue on having lunch in the town of Mbarara before driving through an area of tea-plantations and on to the great views of Queen Elizabeth national park. In the afternoon we check in and you settle in to enjoy the luxury lodge.

Overnight options: - Mweya Safari Lodge - Katara Lodge -

Day 2: Morning chimps trekking and afternoon game-drive in Kasenyi

Right after breakfast we head towards the Kyambura Gorge where you will go for a chimps trekking adventure. Enjoy the special nature and head into the forest to meet the chimpanzees. After the trek we head back to the luxury lodge for a nice lunch and a bit of relaxation. Later in the afternoon it is time for a game-drive in the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth national park. We search for lions, look at buffaloes, birds and antelopes as well as a salt lake. As the sun sets we head back to the lodge for dinner.

Overnight options: - Mweya Safari Lodge - Katara Lodge -

Day 3: Tree-climbing lions in the morning and afternoon boat-cruise

We leave the lodge in the early morning to head towards the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth national park, known for its tree-climbing lions. A highlight of this luxury Queen Elizabeth safari. The drive there takes around two hours and is an experience in it self as we might spot both elephants, baboons and black-and-white colobus monkeys by the road side. When reaching Ishasha we make a game-drive searching for lions in the big fig trees and being fascinated by the peculiar looking topis. After the game-drive we journey back to the luxury lodge for lunch before heading for the boat-cruise on the Kazinga channel in the afternoon. The Kazinga channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and along its banks there are hippos, buffaloes and elephants visiting the water. From the boat you can see the big mammals as well as many different bird species. In the evening you enjoy a nice dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Morning game-drive and transfer to Kampala

To soak in the last of Queen Elizabeth national park we head out for a morning game-drive as the sun rises over the savanna. We now have a last chance to catch a glimpse of lion, leopard and the other residents of the park. After the game-drive we start the journey towards Kampala. Making a stop for lunch along the way and reaching the city in the late afternoon. Your safari guides drops you in Kampala (or if you have a flight to catch in Entebbe), as we have reached the end of the luxury safari to Queen Elizabeth national park.
