You land in Kigali , Rwanda, to make the short drive over to Bwindi mountains in Uganda. In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park you stay in on of Uganda’s best lodges and have an unforgettable meeting with the Mountain Gorillas. To make the journey swift and comfortable you are then flown to Masai Mara via a night in Entebbe. The last few days are then spent exploring the vast Masai Mara and including the highlight of a hot air balloon safari. Luxury Uganda & Kenya Safari – 8 days
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali airport
We meet our tour guide and transfer to our Hotel in Kigali to relax and get ready for the adventure starting the next day with our Luxury Uganda & Kenya Safari.

Day 2: Kigali city tour with genocide memorial center and transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast we head out for a city tour of Rwanda’s capital Kigali. This is a city different from many others in East Africa so it might surprise you. We finish the tour off with a visit to the genocide memorial center, telling the story of the tragic time the country went through in 1994. After the city tour we start the journey to Uganda. It’s a beautiful drive through a hilly landscape as we cross the border and continue on to Bwindi Mountains, the home of the mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking day- Bwindi Impenetrable national park
This is the day of the gorilla trekking, the first highlight of this Luxury Uganda & Kenya safari. Arrive at the gorilla trekking starting point and set off for your big adventure to see the great giants of the misty mountains. You trek in a group with a specialized guide and get to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas. Besides the mountain gorillas this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterfly and plant species plus forest hog; forest Elephants, Statungas and Duikers. After the trek your guide picks you and takes you back to the lodge to relax.

Day 4: Flight to Entebbe & relaxed afternoon
Leave the misty mountains of Bwindi behind and fly to Entebbe for a relaxed afternoon at the luxury hotel during your last night in Uganda for this Luxury Uganda & Kenya safari.

Day 5: Flight from Entebbe to Masai Mara (Kichwa Tembo airstrip), 12.15 pm & afternoon game-drive
Enjoy a relaxed morning at the hotel and then be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Masai Mara in Kenya, the second country of this Luxury Uganda & Kenya safari. At the airstrip you are picked by your guide who takes you to the lodge for check-in and then you get a first taste of what Masai Mara has to offer during an afternoon game-drive. (Note that flight to Masai Mara this day is dependent on the airline, if any changes are made to their schedule the itinerary needs to be adapted.)

Day 6: Experience Masai Mara
The whole day is dedicated to game spotting in this sprawling reserve of Masai Mara. If we wake up with luck, we can watch a lion, cheetah or leopard hunting or feasting on its kill. Option of a visit to a Masai village. This is for sure a day full of memories from our Luxury Uganda & Kenya safari.

Day 7: Hot air baloon safari in the morning & afternoon game-drive in Masai Mara
Wake up early morning for the adventure of a hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara. You spend one unforgettable hour floating above the Masai Mara, taking in the landscape and animals below. After the balloon safari you have breakfast and then you can choose to either have some rest before the game-drive or head straight out to explore more of the Masai Mara. Hopefully this last day in Masai Mara is a great one of your Luxury Uganda & Kenya safari, hoping for top sightings of lions, leopard and more.

Day 8: Flight to Nairobi airport for international flight
This morning we leave Masai Mara behind with amazing wildlife memories. We make the journey to the airstrip where your guide drops you for the flight to Nairobi airport. We recommend you to plan for a late afternoon/evening flight from Nairobi to allow enough time for possible delays in the domestic flight and check-in.
POSSIBLE EXTENSIONS
- Add on an extra days gorilla trekking
- Add a night in Uganda to include Chimps trekking
- Upgrade to Gorilla Habituation (4 hours with the gorillas)
- Continue to a paradise island for a luxurious escape after your safari
- Stay a night in Nairobi in connection to the safari if needed for your flight schedule.
