We cross the boarder over to Uganda and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. It is a drive offering great views of the mountains as you enter into the forest that is the home of the Mountain Gorillas. DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING DAY
After breakfast at the lodge it is time to head to the gorilla trekking starting point for the great highlight of this luxury fly-in gorilla trekking safari. Your guide will take care of all practicalities and you take part in the briefing where you are told about the rules for the meeting with the mountain gorillas. You then walk off into the jungle with a group of up to eight people and a specialised guide to trek to the point where the gorillas are. A search team is always sent out in the early morning to locate the gorillas and lead the trekking guide to that point. Bwindi is a beautiful jungle so the trek is an experience in itself. When you reach the point where the gorillas are you spend one unforgettable hour with them, hopefully spotting the great silverback, seeing some young members playing and studying these fascinating creatures close up. After the meeting with the gorillas your guide picks you for the drive to the lodge in Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP.
